Operating Point System

We love to reward our active members for their participation and academic excellence. To do so, we use an operating point system each semester, to monitor the initiative and commitment of members in the classroom and to our organization.

  • Upload test/quiz to test bank (pre-engineering/engineering/STEM related)
  • Receiving an A on an exam
  • 2.5 – 2.9 GPA for Midterm OR 2.0 – 2.49 GPA cumulative at end of semester (self reported)
  • 0.05 – 0.19 increase of cumulative GPA at end of semester (self reported)

 

1 Point(s)

  • Attend general body meetings, company meetings, study sessions, career fairs, workshops, etc.
    • Visual evidence is required to prove attendance at career fairs and other non-NSBE sponsored events
  • 3.0 – 3.49 GPA for Midterm OR 2.5 – 2.9 GPA cumulative at end of semester (self reported)
  • 0.2 – 0.29 increase of cumulative GPA at end of semester (self reported)
  • Submitting a scholarship essay of at least 500 words from the UK NSBE Scholarship List

 

2 Point(s)

  • Assist with planning and development of program/workshop
  • 3.5 – 3.69 GPA for Midterm OR 3.0 – 3.49 GPA cumulative at end of semester
  • 0.3 – .49 increase of cumulative GPA at end of semester
  • Submitting a scholarship essay of at least 1000 words from the NSBE Scholarship List

 

3 Point(s)

  • Bring a friend (engineering major) to meetings (+2 points if friend joins org)
  • Participate in extracurricular activities (community outreach, volunteering, BBQ, etc.)
  • 3.7 – 4.0 GPA for Midterm OR 3.5 – 4.0 GPA cumulative at end of semester (self reported)
  • 0.5+ increase of cumulative GPA at end of semester (self reported)
  • Submitting a scholarship essay of at least 1500 words from the NSBE Scholarship

 

Need 20 point minimum to attend FRC
